    The Jefferson College of Rehabilitation Sciences at Thomas Jefferson University will be hosting its high school REACH (Readiness, Exploration, and Application for Careers in Health) Program on the East Falls Campus.

    The College of Rehabilitation Sciences REACH program is open to rising high school juniors and seniors who are interested in careers in exercise science, physical therapy, occupational therapy, athletic training and speech-language pathology and who are traditionally underrepresented in these disciplines. This includes students who identify with historically marginalized communities, including:

    ·     Students from underrepresented racial and ethnic minorities

    ·     First generation college students

    ·     Students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds

    ·     Students who identify within the LGBTQ+ communities

    ·     Students with disabilities

    The program is offered at no cost to the student and will run from Monday, July 31st through Thursday, August 3rd from approximately 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

    The Culverhouse College of Business at The University of Alabama announced two summer programs designed to introduce students to college life as well as business majors at UA and to help prepare and support them toward college admission. The focus is on students in the summer between their junior and senior years of high school. Applications will be accepted until May 15.1. Diversity Business in Bridge Program, The Diversity Business in Bridge Program (DBBP) is geared toward historically marginalized students (i.e. Hispanic/Latino, African American, Native American) and will focus on academic, social and leadership skills essential to success as a business major and as a professional. Students will engage in sessions about various business areas such as Marketing, Management, Finance and Management Information Systems, and participate in experiential activities. Students will also learn how to set goals and understand financial literacy to become more personally, fiscally and socially responsible in life and within careers. After successfully completing the program, students admitted to The University of Alabama will be eligible for financial support in the Culverhouse College of Business. Support of $45,000 has been committed to students in the first two cohorts.Thanks to the partnership between Culverhouse and Protective Life Corporation, the DBBP is FREE for participants. The program will focus on academic, social and leadership skills essential to success as a business major and as a professional. Finance, Management Information Systems, Marketing and Accounting are among the majors that will be represented. The participants will have the opportunity to hear from professional women in all of these fields. Other features of the program include professional development, supervised college life, experiential learning and connections with like-minded women who have interests in different facets of business.The program costs $850. Full or partial scholarships are available on a limited basis thanks to the Women in Business Conference and Minerva sponsors.     Chester County Economic Development Council’s STEM Innovation programs provide career exploration and skill development for area youth. The Summer Career Academies are for students (ages 10-16) interested in STEM and Healthcare.  Participants can discover what it is like to be a Surgeon, Nurse, Pediatrician, Veterinarian, Forensic Scientist, and Biomedical Engineer through interactive and fun activities!   Here is the link to the website which provides further details and the registration link – https://steminnovationpa.org/summeracademies/

    State Police Youth Week This is a six-day camp used to introduce students in all procedures of law enforcement.  Cadets participate in a wide variety of instructional sessions with local, State Police and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.  Cadets march to their classes in platoon formation and have drill competitions.  You should be physically fit and have a good academic record to be able to participate.  This is not a recreational camp.

    Eligibility: Female or male student who is a resident of PA between the ages of 15-17 prior to the start of camp. Cadets must be in good health, with no physical defects, and have an average or above standing in their class and, of course, express a personal interest in either law enforcement or military service.

    Keystone Boys State (KBS) and Keystone Girls State (KGS) is a week-long summer experience organized by the American Legion that focuses on civics, leadership development, and personal growth. Residents of Pennsylvania who have completed their junior year of high school and have at least one semester of high school remaining are eligible to apply. Only students with outstanding qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service to their school and community are to be considered. Keystone State is an equal opportunity program to all qualified candidates. Program fees are paid by American Legion  Posts and the American Legion Department of Pennsylvania, with little or no expense to the student and their family.

    Black College Institute (BCI) Summer Program

    All programs are FREE for students! Applications for Virginia Tech's 7th annual Black College Institute (BCI) are now live! We invite high-achieving and intellectually curious rising high school juniors and seniors to apply and participate in this summer academic leadership program! 

    This year's BCI will be offered fully in person at Virginia Tech's main campus in Blacksburg, Virginia. This residential program will offer one session for rising juniors and two sessions for rising seniors. 

    • Current sophomores are encouraged to apply for the rising juniors session taking place June 11- June 14, 2023. Rising Juniors apply here 
    • Current juniors are encouraged to apply for one of the rising seniors sessions taking place June 18- June 22, 2023, OR June 25- June 29, 2023. You can only participate in one of the two sessions. Rising Seniors apply here

    Lebanon Valley College Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program,   We are happy to welcome rising High School freshmen-seniors.   

    The goal of the Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Program is to provide a window into the scientific basis of human health.  Our online Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer program will include live lectures from LVC faculty, visiting guest speakers, online laboratory exercises and other interactive activities.  While we cannot duplicate the in-person experience of our traditional summer camp, our faculty are committed to providing students with an engaging and valuable experience! 

    Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, physiology and neuroscience.  In addition, students will interact with practicing professionals in fields such as medicine, physical therapy, toxicology, and biomedical laboratory research. The Health and Biomedical Sciences Program will provide a fun, challenging and engaging college environment in which students will develop a deeper understanding of what it means to be a biomedical scientist and health professional.

    Four pre-college, experiential summer program opportunities in the healthcare industry, business, agriculture, natural resources, environment, food insecurity, leadership and international relations for current sophomores and juniors.

    The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State offers hands-on summer camp opportunities for students interested in broadcast journalism and film production at the University Park campus. These residential summer camps offer high school students the chance to experience media-related careers while working in our state-of-the-art studios.     United States Naval Academy Summer Programs Applications are now available. USNA Summer Programs

    United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year in high school. Summer Seminar teaches students about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics, and professional training play equally important roles in developing our nation’s leaders. Students who are interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies and serving the country as an officer are encouraged to apply for the Naval Academy Summer Seminar.

    United States Naval Academy Summer STEM is designed to spark and cultivate interest in the many academic disciplines which make up science, technology, engineering and mathematics. A hands-on, design-based program, Naval Academy Summer Stem will challenge students to think scientifically, problem solve creatively, and work cooperatively in teams. Open to rising 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. Summer STEM is led by USNA faculty and currently enrolled midshipman.

    Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is a one-of-a-kind summer program that offers current sophomores and juniors a unique and challenging opportunity to see what it is like to run their own business. Participants will learn first-hand about the Free Enterprise System. Students will develop leadership, communication, and self-discovery skills. Students will receive important tools and knowledge to help determine career paths while making friends and lifelong connections. The week is free. The only cost is a $295 non-refundable registration fee and providing your own transportation to and from Lycoming College or Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA.     Hospital Volunteer Programs for Teens

    If you are interested in gaining exposure to the medical field while also giving back to the community, volunteering in a local hospital is a great way to spend your summer. Applications open up as early as January, and these programs always fill up quickly. Here are some opportunities for you to consider:
