2023/2024 Class

  • Dear Families, 

     

    Welcome to a new school year!  My name is Miranda Thiessen, and I will be your child’s first grade teacher. I look forward to meeting each of you and working with your child this year.  Together we will make this a wonderful year for us all. 

     

    I am so excited to be starting my second year at SRS, and my 7th year teaching, with experience in first grade and kindergarten.  I love teaching and I am passionate about early literacy. I have my Master’s Degree in reading and also have my reading specialist certification. 

     

    My goal every school year is to foster a love of learning through a nurturing and supportive environment for all students. I am so excited to create a classroom community and work with your child!

     

    Communication is essential.  Throughout the year, I will be sending updates so you always know what to expect. I will communicate important school and classroom updates as I receive them. I also share a google doc called the “Parent Hub” which I update weekly with a brief overview of what we are working on in class.  Please know that I am here for you and your child.  If at any time you have a concern about anything, please feel free to reach out to me so I can partner with you for a solution.  My email address is mthiessen@wssd.org.  You can also reach me at SRS at 610-544-5700 x8403.
