The activities program supports Strath Haven Middle School’s dedication to fostering intellectual curiosity, honoring individuality, promoting cooperation, and enhancing self-esteem. Clubs, councils, and special events offer students opportunities beyond the classroom to think critically, make responsible decisions, and become alive to new ideas, concepts, and skills. Service activities involve students in the larger community outside SHMS, encouraging the development of empathy and responsibility. Activities promote an atmosphere that reflects our commitment to student self-discovery and a sense of belonging.
Clubs meet regularly throughout the school year and vary according to student interests. Other activity groups meet seasonally or as needed. The Student Council works with the Activities Directors to plan, implement, and evaluate after-school and evening socials. We encourage all students to participate in our variety of co-curricular programs. Students who are interested in starting new clubs should contact the Activities Coordinator, Bernadette Kutufaris.
